Just started on it, it's one of those builds I've had in mind for a while and just need to get it out of my head so I can rest. The idea for this is to use the same build methodology as the Traxxas UDR.

Not much right now, but I'll keep updating as I go.

Worked a little on the drive shaft mounting to the gear box. Will figure out the mounts for the shocks and arms next. 20190709_182137.jpg 20190709_182154.jpg 20190709_182208.jpg

And some more, I think the rear axle is pretty much done, next is to work on the mounting points on the chassis as well as the rod arms. I've reinforced the unit walls which the axle sits between as with how it's cut, it had far too much flex, so I've added frp on both walls on both sides. I've added the mounting points for the rod arms also. With tyres on, the unit has plenty of clearance from the ground.

Decided to cut the front of the chassis and prepare the gear mount bearings whilst I added the rear mounts.
That was yesterday, today I've trimmed down the frp now the glue dried, I've added the ball studs and made some links.
Still needs some tweaking, but the rear end is starting to come together. I was even able to have a quick test to try the actuation of the rear unit.
Next up, more tweaking on the rod links and figuring out the shocks. The final image with the battery under the chassis, it's over extended, with shocks, the drive shaft should have less angle. The image before it though is just about right.

So, I had a good go at it today, was hoping to finish but slight mishap with the driveshafts I wanted to use for the front. I cut one down to size I needed, only to find that the hex hole doesn't go all the way through the part, in fact I cut it off right where it came to an end, so naturally it just spins now

Anywho, the first image is just to give a reference for the drop test.

The rest just shows what I've done for the front end. The double wishbone suspension set up, shock set up. It has a decent amount of travel, just a shame about the drive shafts.
The place I got these ones from have a new set coming out that are smaller than the one I was using so I'll have to wait until it's in stock before I can try to finish this. But hey, at least.......drop test video!!
